Summary on making a stitch and glue wood Kayak, Canoe or Row boats.
1) All pieces are cut and some pieces are finger jointed or scarfed together to get the length needed for the boat.
2.) The the the bottom of the boat is assembled by drilling holes every 4 inches and inserting 3" of copper wire along the edgers the edges of the pieces, cooper wires are adjusted and the inside seams are taped with epoxy fillet and then copper wires are pulled out.
3) Bulk heads are installed to keep the shape the cockpit is fiber glassed, and the entire inside of the boats is coated with epoxy to waterproof it.
4.) The top is installed and fiber glassed. For Kayak only The wood coming around the cockpit is installed.
5.) The bottom is fiber glassed and foot brasses and hip boards are installed.
6.) The boats is fiber glassed and varnished.
