Shapes of the blade:
Pinfeather Blades have the blades parallel tune
another and feather have blades angled from each other.
Touring Paddles are long, narrow and symmetrical. A spooned paddle has a cupped face increasing the power of a stroke, while a dihedral paddle using the tapered nose helps direct water away from the paddle.
Size and Shape:
A longer paddle is needed by paddlers of tall or wide boats. Often, a
sit-on-top kayak will need a longer paddle. A long paddle provide more
power, with more resistance. Whitewater kayaking
use shorter paddles for increased maneuverability.
